Haley2 looks like she’s coming back
a bit to counter jackspam lists like Gaspy3, so time to test Kaelyssa into it.
It feels like a really strong match up but needs to be played out to be sure.
Paul wins the roll to go first.
Arcane
Shield on a Centurion, Sidekick on
Thunderhead. Haley puts up Force Field and
TKs up a Centurion. Everything stays
out of maximum threat of Helios.
Banishing
Ward on AFG, Blur on the
right Ryssovass, Refuge on Kealyssa
and everything runs up, keeping infantry and Eiryss out of 17” of Thunderhead.
Paul doesn’t want to Feat and so
bunkers up behind the forest. The lights on the flank take out a couple of
Defenders.
I feel if I can kill Thunderhead
and not lose Helios in retaliation I probably win the game. Kae Dispels Sidekick and Stalls Thunderhead and right Centurion
before Feating. AFGs knock down both Cents and Ironclad, dealing some damage.
Helios walks up out of 6” of the threat jacks so that they will need a speed
boost, pushes the left Centution within 19” of Eiryss who disrupts it, and
pulls in and destroys Thunderhead. 2 Defenders take the cortex out of the
Firefly.
Haley Feats on Helios, AFG, Issyen,
Kaelyssa, Aelyth and a Defender. After shaking only the Ironclad can get to
Helios with meaningful Focus, and deals a bit of damage. More Defenders are
shot off by the lights.
Kaelyssa Stalls Ironclad. AFG knocks down Centuion and damages Ironclad
more, allowing Defenders to charge and kill it. Helios pulls in Centurion and
pushes other out of zone, killing one in melee. I leave objective on 1 box. I
deal some damage on the right but nothing too significant.
Paul knows game has gone, so kills
what he can on the right, leaving one Defender alive.
I plan to finish off the last heavy
and start scoring some CPs, but end up accidentally knocking down Haley with an
AFG slam into the Squire, so Helios pulls her in and kills her.
VICTORY
- Very good matchup, list has a lot of control into Jacks, even with
impressive walking threat ranges
- List doesn’t feel as good into Warmachine as the Legions version, but the
versatility into Hordes feels worth a lot.
- Game may have been different had Paul Feated top of 2, but I understand
him not wanting to.
