Practice game over in Southport. First game into Dan’s Cygnar. Lost list chicken to end up with Kaelyssa into Haley, but still feel like it is a playable game and win first turn, which certainly helps.

Refuge on Kaelyssa, Blur on Helios and everything runs up, staying out of threat.

Cygnar troops run up, staying out of threat range of Sentinels and charges from Destors.

I stagger my troops, trying to limit by the effectiveness of his upcoming feat turn. Some Destors move up to jam where possible and Helios moves up pretty aggressively. Kaelyssa Feats.

Haley’s feat turn. Some bad positioning by me means that some Mages are able to walk into melee and get boosted damage with Pistoleer shots, taking out a number of Sentinels. I lose most of the right unit due to Falk boosting the damage and more of the left than I wanted to. The Destor Thane on the left lives though, so that’s something. Score at 0-0.

Need a big comeback here, but I should be able to score this turn and Dan is running out of ways to kill Helios. I clear up all of the Blazers and most of the Mages on the left, whilst Helios pulls in and destroys one of the Defenders, setting some Mages on fire in the process. I lead 1-0.

Dan focusses on Helios this turn and puts all the shooting into him, but even with the boost from Falk he comes up considerably short. He does take out a few other bits and pieces but without the Feat shots the attrition feels like its swinging my way. 2-0 to me

I continue pushing through the Mage Hunters on the left and take out a handful more on the right. 3-0 to me

As a last gasp Haley herself gets involved and takes out a number of Sentinels. A bit more damage goes into Helios but he’s still standing. 3-0 to me.

I clear off the one contesting model and score both zones to win 5-0.

VICTORY

-      Useful game to see, and always fun to play this list, it has a real way of pulling back difficult games.
-      One aspect of the matchup I wasn’t aware of was how vital Pistolier is, and so keeping at least 6.5” away from Gun Mages on Feat turn makes life a lot easier
-      I love this list so much…
