There is
a lot of Exemplar Interdiction at the WTC this year, so another game into is to
continue to feel out how it plays. This list was really focussing on the medium
bases, with Defenders Warded Cinerators
being an obvious threat. Matt wins the roll to go first.
Defenders Ward goes onto the right Cinerators, and Vision onto BoV. Everything runs up.
I advance
up the table, shooting off 2 Errants with Vyros and putting up Covering Fire in front of the rest.
Errants
plink a bit of damage into my jacks but nothing too significant. The medium
bases on the right move up between the two buildings.
3
Griffons on the left take out all the Errants, 3 Griffons on the right deal
with the unit of Cinerators over there. The Manticores shoot off one of
Rhoven’s Co and sig aggressively in the centre. Vyros Feats. 0-0
Severius
does a load of spells before the remaining Exemplars charge in. Unfortunately
the awkward table state means he can’t always attack where he wants, and only 2
Griffons go down. 0-0
I build
Synergy, Aspis takes out the last Shield Guard and the Manticores shoot Severus
to death. I missed a better play here, using the Aspis to slam the Guardian
over Severius, but still had plenty of attacks to take him out.
VICTORY
- Was surprised how quickly DW Cinerators
went down, but after Concentrated Power and
Synergy a Griffon only needs a
boosted 10 to kill one.
- Bastions are reasonably easy to play around, this and the Harby game
shows that they aren’t necessarily the problem I thought they would be
