First game back from the Nationals and I feel that I can really start investigation what impact the CID has on our faction. I only played my Elara list twice at the Nationals, but really liked how the list felt and want to push to see what it can do. First up is Mark, playing the same caster as the last round. I win first turn and we get moving.

Scything Touch onto Narn and a Teleport to get a bit further up the table. Everything runs. Infiltrators have gone for the left flank to put early pressure on the Shock troopers, but should probably have been on the right to shut down more of the shooting

Mistakes made on my part as I’d moved too close to the Trancers and so lose a handful of Mage Hunters far too early. Mark feels that he can’t afford to just walk up and shoot and so his entire force runs to take up as much board position as possible

Elara’s Feat turn and I get a lot of work done. I take out all 4 Trancers, 3 Shock Troopers, 2 Assault Troopers and all but one of the Rocketmen. It felt like a pretty good turn.

But I’d left Elara too exposed. Part of her activation was taking out one of the Assault Troopers with a Convection leaving her on zero camp behind a forest. I thought I was fine from the LOS of the Jacks, but had forgotten about Super-Fuel from Syvestro. That allowed both Vindicators to walk far enough to gain LOS, and with feat boosted attacks they but Elara into the dirt.

DEFEAT

OK, so, testing how offensive Elara can afford to be, the answer is a pretty resounding “not that offensive”. The work that she got done on Feat turn was incredible, and had I kept her safe Mark would have had no chance to come back from it other than an assassination I should have protected against. I am not feeling Moros in the list, and am starting to look at dropping him and making a few tweaks to get the Spears in. A couple of Shield Guards would have taken this assassination off the table.
